This regulation mandates that both EU-based newspaper printers and publishers, as well as those supplying the EU market, must provide comprehensive sourcing information and implement due diligence measures.

Key requirements include ensuring products originate from deforestation-free land, compliance with local laws, and the submission of a Due Diligence Statement (DDS). The EUDR aims to minimize deforestation-related consumption and enhance the trade of legal, sustainable commodities, ultimately contributing to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss.
